4/8/48-Hank opens for Opry package show in Montgomery featuring Johnny Bond and Cowboy Copas. Hank starts drinking with Copas and disappears for two or three days.
4/12/48-Hank signs publishing deal with Acuff-Rose
4/28/48Audrey files for divorce-"Hank Williams...has a violent and ungovernable temper..during the last month, he has been drunk most of the time."
5/26/48-divorce is final. Hank and Audrey had reconciled, though.

8/7/48-Hank debuts on Hayride, performs "Move It On Over," and "On the Banks of the Old Ponchertrain" according to Tilman Franks; Colin Escott reports he performed "I want to Live and Love" with Audrey, not "Ponchertrain."
9/9/48-Article appears in Shreveport Times reporting on audience reaction at Hayride to 'Lovesick Blues" He obviously started playing it within a week or two of joining the Hayride. |
